After navigating the challenging terrain of phases 3 to 6 in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Phase 7 emerges as the wind-down phase, offering clients a gentle space to land after working through earlier phases. In Phase 7, the focus shifts from processing traumatic memories to integration and closure.
Clients are guided through reflection and/or relaxation techniques to provide a calm, safe place for them to weave together the insights gained and the progress made during the session. Phase 7 is a pivotal moment where clients can pause, breathe, and acknowledge the resilience they've shown throughout their EMDR session and journey. Phase 7 embodies the essence of healing—finding peace amidst the storm and embracing a brighter, empowered future.
